Is this really a womans rights issue, or is this woman just looking for attention?
Let's think about this. The crew before the flight is informed that two of the passengers have cultural or religious beliefs that they cannot sit, speak to, or interact with women. The crew notices that there is a female who's scheduled to sit next to them. They now have a few options move the men, move the woman, or leave her where she is.
I'd be curious to see how booked this flight was, moving the two men could easily prove to be more difficult then moving the woman. There might not be an empty seat on the flight. If they left her seat unchanged then what would have happened? I'm thinking religious discrimination. Imagine if you had their beliefs you cannot sit next to her, the crew doesn't offer you another seat.
Should you be forced to wait for the next flight because this woman is unwilling to change her seat for your beliefs?
Read over the letter she had written to United and just think about it as you read it.
"What if I were handicapped or transgender? What if your entire flight crew were female? Any belief that prevents individuals from interacting with females should not travel on commercial aircraft."
Handicapped or transgender wouldn't have changed anything in this situation. If the entire flight crew were female the men would have simply not spoken to them, remember they weren't about to sit next to the flight crew.
Now read that last line again.
"Any belief that prevents individuals from interacting with females should not travel on commercial aircraft."
So any one who is part of that religion is no longer allowed to fly?
This woman is not the next Rosa Parks. This woman is simply someone who discriminates against others beliefs.
What do you all think?
